Health and sustainability are in the foundations of Vivobarefoot. They believe that the health of people is intimately connected to the health of the planet and the closer people are to nature, the more likely they will work to protect it.
Ethics
Ethical Manufacturing
Their main production lines are in China and Vietnam. They also work with artisans in Ethiopia, Namibia, India and Finland.
Sustainable Materials
Vivobarefoot turns recycled plastic, algae, corn, and all kinds of plant bits into shoes. The leather they use is predominantly the Wild Hide, naturally scarred leather that is a by-product of the local food industry in Edjersa, Ethiopia.
Social Projects
Their Soul of Africa range is made in Ethiopia with local materials and their proceeds go back to supporting community projects in Ethiopia.
Their indigenous sandals range are made by artisans in Namibia, India and Finland.
Recycled Materials
50% of their vegan shoes are made from recycled plastic.
