Silverstick are outdoor people making clothes purpose-built for the natural habitats we love to play in. They created their first collection in 2010. Their clothes are designed and crafted to feel comfortable and look great on your adventures while being rugged enough to survive in the wild.
Ethics
Ethical Manufacturing
They have built a long term relationship with their factory in south west Turkey which is accredited by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) for its social and environmental processes. It is close to the fields where their organic cotton is grown, meaning the fibre don't need to travel far to be made into garments. The factory is independently audited every year by GOTS to ensure it continues to manufacture responsibly.
Sustainable Materials
Silverstick uses the highest quality organic cotton grown in the South West of Turkey. The farmers use crop rotation to maintain healthy and fertile soils. Only natural manures are used meaning there is no chemical pollution of local waterways from field water run off.
Sustainable Production
The factory has strict environmental policies on waste water and other outputs that result from the manufacturing process. And strict social policies as identified by international labour conventions on health and safety and things we take for granted, such as toilet facilities.
Made in Britain
A range of Silverstick outdoor accessories are made exclusively in Britain. They use small factories which have often been founded over a 100 years ago with 3rd and 4th generations of the same family running them.
Toxin free dyes
On hand printed items, water based inks are used on the lighter coloured garments and they are certified non-toxic, lead-free and do not contain any heavy metals. Plastisol inks are used on the darker coloured garments and these are certified PVC and phthalate free.
