Baukjen is an environmentally, ethically and socially conscious brand that creates contemporary women’s fashion you’ll want to wear on repeat.

Ethics

Ethical Manufacturing
Baukjen only works with factories that meet the highest ethical standards and sign their code of conduct. They make regular visits to all of their factories and have a strong and committed relationship with all the owners. Factories are currently located in England, Portugal, Romania, Bulgaria and China.
Sustainable Materials
They use a range of materials in their products from organic cotton and Tencel to recycled plastic. Their range is not yet 100% sustainable, but products listed on the Baobab Avenue website make use of sustainable materials. They also source ethically produced animal products and are actively researching vegan alternatives.
Sustainable Production
Baukjen are carbon net-neutral, and on a journey to be carbon-positive. They are a zero-waste company, and do not send clothes to landfill or incineration. Customers can return old garments to them to be repurposed into new fabrics for new garments or recycled in a sustainable manner.
Sustainable Packaging
Baukjen is plastic free and their packaging is 100% biodegradable.
Gives to charity
They donate at least 10% of profits to charities every year.
