The lockdown is easing, you’re going out more, and you’re rediscovering what your friends and family look like in the flesh, at last! But we still all have a responsibility to help protect each other during our forays into the ‘real world’.
One thing we can all easily rock is the face mask look. You may have already made your own, but if you’re still on the hunt or want to build more variety into your look here’s our favs from ethical and sustainable brands.
Vegan face masks in organic cotton or fabric off-cuts
Po-zu have teamed up with their manufacturing partners in Portugal to make their non-medical masks.
The masks are reusable and washable.
Choose from certified organic cotton fabric, or waste reducing fabric off-cuts in an assortment of colours.
The masks have been treated with an anti-repellent coating for extra protection, and they’re water repellent and breathable.

Komodo is creating face masks with waste fabric from their SOS range. Their vegan masks are re-usable and machine washable. They come with 2 disposable respiratory filters that can be inserted between the outer layer and lining.
Organic cotton face masks
Wawwa have shifted their production focus from apparel to face masks. Their masks are double-layered and made from 100% organic cotton. They are also washable and re-usable.
Vegan organic cotton face masks from waste fabric
People Tree have created these masks using left over fabrics from past production. They are breathable, reusable and machine washable with elasticated loops to secure behind the ears. Their is an inside pouch for a filter.
Design from Belgium Government approved face mask
Riley Studios have created their cotton face masks as per the Belgium Government's approved design. They've used off cuts and dead stock waste fabrics. It has a built-in filter pocket and comes with a bag to keep and protect your mask.
From off-cuts to face masks!
The Natural Dyer is creating face masks from fabric off-cuts.Their masks are washable and re-wearable and for every mask purchased one will be donated to key workers.
They have a pocket in between layers for a filtration layer. Sizes for men, women and children. We especially like the masks they've created with their naturally dyed fabrics.

The Reformation are producing non-medical masks in an assortment of prints and colours.
They’re made from fabric that they have lying around and are available in packs of five in adult sizes.
Organic linen face masks
Plumo are creating hand-made face masks from four layers of organic linen. Linen is both resilient and functional, and is said to have naturally antibacterial properties.
The masks are light, breathable, washable at 90 degrees and reusable.
For every sale, they are donating to the Masks 4 Heroes crowdfunding campaign providing PPE to NHS frontline staff.
